Structurally speaking, a high brightness LCD screen belongs to the category of flat panel display devices. Its basic structure is in the shape of a flat plate. The basic structure of a typical high brightness LCD screen is mainly composed of several major components, including front and rear polarizers, front and rear ITO conductive glass sheets, sealing edges, and LCD.
Of course, different types of high brightness LCD screens may have different components, such as phase-change, PDLC, and multi-stable high brightness LCD screens without polarizers, and active matrix high brightness LCD screens with active matrix circuits made on the substrate. However, all high brightness LCD screens can be considered to be made up of two substrates with transparent conductive electrodes, clamped with a liquid crystal layer, and sealed into a polarizing box, Sometimes, polarizers or other components may be attached to the outer surface.
1、 High brightness LCD screen composition
1. LCD
Liquid crystal materials are the main body of high brightness LCD screen modules. The liquid crystal materials used in different devices are different, and most liquid crystal materials are mixed with several or even a dozen monomer liquid crystal materials. Each liquid crystal material has its own fixed clear point TL and crystallization point TS. Therefore, it is also required that each type of high brightness LCD screen must be used and stored within a certain temperature range between TS and TL. If the temperature is used or stored too low, crystallization will damage the directional layer of the high brightness LCD screen; If the temperature is too high, the liquid crystal will lose its liquid crystal state, thus losing the function of the liquid crystal display device.
2. Glass substrate
This is a float method for producing thin glass sheets with an extremely flat surface. The surface is coated with a transparent conductive layer of In2O3 and SiO2, which is the ITO film layer. Transparent conductive graphics are made by photolithography, which are composed of pixel graphics and outer lead graphics. Therefore, the external lead cannot be connected through traditional soldering and can only be connected through conductive rubber strips or conductive tape. If scratched, cut or corroded, it can cause the device to be scrapped.
3. Polarizer
Polarizing film, also known as polarizing film, is made of plastic film material. Coated with a layer of optical pressure-sensitive adhesive, it can be attached to the surface of the LCD box. There is also a protective film on the surface of the polarizer, which should be removed during use. Polarizers are afraid of high temperature and humidity, which can cause depolarization or foaming under high temperature and humidity conditions.
2、 The Display Principle of High Brightness LCD Screen
There are alignment films installed on two glass substrates, so the liquid crystal will align along the grooves. The arrangement of liquid crystal rod like molecules with dipole moments changes under the action of an external electric field, causing the light passing through the liquid crystal display device to be modulated, resulting in a display effect of light and dark or through and not through.
Each display pixel in the high brightness LCD screen module can be individually controlled by an electric field, and different display pixels can form different characters, numbers, and graphics on the display screen according to the command of the control signal. Therefore, establishing the required electric field for display and controlling the combination of display pixels becomes the function of LCD display drivers and LCD display controllers.
