The liquid crystal molecules act like gates to block the pass rate of light emitted by the LED backlight source, and then project the light into different colored filters to form images.
LCD panels are usually composed of several parts, including a liquid crystal molecular layer, a filter film, and a backlight. The structure below the liquid crystal molecular layer and between the metal backplate is mainly composed of a reflective plate, a refractive plate, and a three-layer filter film.
The function of a reflector is to reflect light back and reduce the loss of light. The function of a refracting plate is to reflect and refract light within it, evenly distributing it throughout the entire LCD screen. The function of a filter membrane is to remove light of a certain wavelength, and all three layers of filter membranes have their own functions.
In addition to the light source, the LED backlight source is equipped with a transparent filter layer and a white reflector. There are many particles on the filter layer, which aim to make the backlight more uniform through refraction and reflection; Reflective panels can increase the brightness of LED backlight light.
By combining LED backlight with reflective panels, refractors, and filters, the light source can be evenly distributed throughout the entire screen. However, there are currently few LED backlight sources with strip designs that can achieve very uniform distribution of light throughout the screen. Therefore, many high-end or professional level displays adopt a dot matrix LED backlight design.
